Yes, as of January 8, 2025, the United Kingdom is implementing a new Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) requirement for travelers to enter or transit through the UK. All guests transiting through the UK (changing planes or airports) enroute to an AmaWaterways river cruise are required to hold an ETA. Travelers will need to apply online at least three days before departure. For more information, please visit our Travel Advisory Page.
If you've received an email invite, you may now start placing offers to upgrade your stateroom category on your upcoming river cruise. Please note: Submitting an upgrade offer does not guarantee an upgrade nor does this program guarantee availability in any particular stateroom category. Your bid will be reviewed leading up to your cruise and you should expect to see a response to your bid within two weeks of departure.
AmaWaterways will prioritize waitlist requests ahead of stateroom upgrade offers if the requested stateroom category becomes available.
Yes, any amount you offer for an upgrade is in addition to the cost of your original reservation.
You get to keep the promotions you already have applied to your reservation. However, no additional promotions will be added to your reservation.
Each reservation is considered individually, and AmaWaterways cannot guarantee that all reservations traveling together will be upgraded, if any. Under the circumstance that all reservations are upgraded, AmaWaterways cannot guarantee that all the upgraded staterooms will be close together.
You may modify or cancel your offer up to 7 days prior to your departure, provided that your offer has not already been accepted by AmaWaterways.
You will be notified via email if your upgrade offer is accepted. Your offer can be accepted anytime from the moment it is submitted up until 3 days prior to departure.
California’s Consumer Legal Remedies Act (CLRA) – SB478 (“Hidden Fees Statute”), which goes into effect July 1, 2024, prohibits most businesses from advertising or displaying a price for a good or service that does not include all required fees or charges other than certain government-imposed taxes and fees. Businesses, including AmaWaterways, are required to advertise prices that are inclusive of all mandatory charges. Beginning June 24, 2024, AmaWaterways will now be advertising US prices that are inclusive of port charges within the cruise and land package fares. For select destinations where intra-air is required, pricing will also include the intra-air costs. Changes are being applied to our website and all marketing materials.
In compliance with CLRA that goes into effect July 1, 2024, AmaWaterways is now advertising US prices that are inclusive of port charges and intra-air pricing (in destinations where intra-air is required) within the cruise and land package fares. Our cruise fares have not changed; however, having the full cost of your river cruise available to you in one advertised upfront fare enables you to make more informed decisions about the total price of your desired vacation.
